Moving Past (not away from) Organizations and Into Activation!

I've recently been asked what I mean when I tell someone that we as apostolic people need to move past organizations and into activation.  So, I thought I might help you understand some of the principles guiding our ministry here and where I am coming from now:

  1. We believe that the BIBLE is universal.  That the truth it holds is singular and that there is only ONE true interpretation (though many applications).  Like an apple, which is ONE FRUIT, but can make many, many foods, the bible is constantly revealing new applications.
  2. We believe that Jesus Christ is returning for His Church, the body of believers that has accurately identified HIM through true interpretation.
  3. We believe that, no matter what your fellowship card says, you are part of his church, if in fact you have fulfilled the basic tenants of that interpretation and are abiding by the basic guiding principles of the Word. Jesus is the Name of the Living God, once known as Jehovah, or YHWH.  That baptism in Jesus name is essential to salvation, along with the infilling of His Holy spirit with the initial signs of speaking in other tongues as he gives the utterance.
  4. We DO NOT hold that ONE CHURCH GROUP OR ORGANIZATION has the whole truth!  We believe that the truth is relevant to his identity and our salvation, not always how we choose to reveal our faith.  That is difficult for some to grasp, but basically it means that Jesus has sheep that did NOT come from your particular church or organization, (JOHN 10:16) so we all need to open ourselves to activation of our faith and fellowshipping those of LIKE PRECIOUS FAITH (EPHESIANS 4:3 - 13) and stop this man-made organizational heirarchy that is locking some out of heaven.

If we cannot even agree to fellowship ACTS 2:38 loving folks just because they may do something, or act in a way, that does not fully comply with YOUR church teaching then we are nothing but NAME DROPPERS and we have lost the NATURE that is God himself:  LOVE.  It behooves us to read the New Testament in light of Jesus' ACTIONS, not just his words and not just his miracles or works either.  His ACTIONS were led by his NATURE.  He truly acted out of love and accepted and fellowshipped and loved people we would never consider now, and worse, many of those folks are ONE-GOD, JESUS NAME PEOPLE and we still shun them.

So, this website is established to allow apostolic folk to spread the gospel WORLD-WIDE and for FREE!  Just sign up and people can google this information and find your writings whereever there is internet!  More importantly, we will be moving out of our card guidelines and into faith and love and that is what God is really all about!

Mark Neddeau was baptized in Jesus name in 1984 into the UPCI in Presque Isle, Maine. He moved to New York and received his local minister's license in 1994 after serving as a local minister in Bridgeport, NY. His first ordination ceremony took place in 1997 in Sikeston, MO through the Greater Works Church of Jesus Christ, and he continued to serve as Associate Pastor for the Apostolic Lighthouse, while evangelizing throughout the Northeast. In 1997 he was given an Ordained minister's license with the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ, and served as Youth Leader for the Greater New England District, while continuing to evangelize. In 2000 he moved to Farrell, PA and began work under Bishop Alvin J. McCoy, where he served as Bishop's armor bearer, driver, and an Elder in the church until 2003, when he moved to Ohio. His relationship with NLW continued thru the years and he began an outreach ministry in 2009 entitled Called To The Ministry, (an outreach of the New and Living Way Apostolic church of Farrell, PA) using Facebook, writings, and this newly established website provided by his good friend Terry Tompkins of Windham, ME. As of June, 2010 he became Founder/Pastor of the Shepherd's Flock Ministries. He is Public Relations Director with Apostolic Ministries, Inc. Most recently, after returning to Presque Isle, Maine - to continue his ministry there, Mark has been accepted as a member in good standing of the International Conference of Police Chaplains, and is working with local police departments to develop a liason office with them - offering spiritual covering and support to law enforcement agencies in his area.  In September 2013, he published his first book - WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT, and in November he completed the course requirements for being a Certifed Christian counselor.

Dana Neddeau was baptized in Jesus Name and began work with Mark as apartment managers, overseeing a Senior Citizen property in Bluffton, OH. Prior to that she ran a Church food pantry in North Carolina for several years. She urged the formation of the Facebook Group "WE LOVE ACTS 2:38, APOSTOLIC PENTECOSTALS UNITE" and has agreed to operate as Ladies Outreach Coordinator for this website. She aids in all Called To The Ministry outreach functions, including making herself available to First Lady McCoy at the New and Living Way. She has a heart of service and diligently works at improving relations between the residents here in Bluffton, OH. Our First Lady will also be developing the Sunday School Program and working with Sister Lisa McCoy to organize the Ladies Auxiliary. As of November 21, 2010, Reverend Dana Neddeau has been given an Ordained license as an elder of Apostolic Ministries, Inc.

Terry Tompkins is a Man of God, who has been a close friend of Mark's for more than 20 years. He is a steadfast example of Chrisitanity, has a beautiful wife, one son, and has a computer consulting business (while overseeing a large bank's IT department) in Windham ME. His generosity and openness has made this outreach possible, and we owe him a debt of gratitude. (We also extend an extra word of thanks for Tobin Tompkins, who has improved the site and added many new features!). Beyond this website, Terry has blessed the ministries of many churches and families, and continues to play an integral role in the growth of Home Missions everywhere.

Hidden in a covered well

Science Dictionary
well  (w?l)  Pronunciation Key
A deep hole or shaft sunk into the Earth to tap a liquid or gaseous substance such as water, oil, gas, or brine. If the substance is not under sufficient pressure to flow freely from the well, it must be pumped or raised mechanically to the surface. Water or pressurized gas is sometimes pumped into a nonproducing oil well to push petroleum resources out of underground reservoirs. See also artesian well.
well 1  (w?l)    n. A place where water issues from the earth; a spring or fountain.

2 Samuel 17:17 - 19 - Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz stayed by Enrogel: for they might not be seen to come into the city: and a wench went and told them; and they went and told King David.  Nevertheless a lad saw them, and told Absalom: but they went both of them away quickly, and came to a man's house in Bahurim, which had a well in his court; whither they went down.  And the woman took and spread a covering over the well's mouth, and spread ground corn thereon; and the thing was not known.

As with every scripture of any size, there is a deep spiritual application to these words.  The part I wish to bring out to you is found in verse 18, completed in verse 19 and it deals with the well specifically.  The two men in question were part of King David's troupe and were hiding from Absalom, who intended to kill King David and any who were with him, that could threaten Absalom's Reign.  It's interesting to note that Absalom is never referred to as king throughout these verses, though he sat on the throne, and David is, though he did not!  Your station in life is not related to your physical circumstance, God knows your heart and where he intends to place you.

They came into a court yard and found a well.  They were looking for a hiding place, when it became known that Absalom may know their whereabouts.  The court yard belonged to a man who must have been wealthy, because teh land they were in was a desert.  It had little water, and wells were no doubt precious things back then.  Anyone possessing one was no doubt well off, or blessed.  They decided, after conferring with the woman at the house to hide in the well.  She spread a cloth over them, then spread corn over the cloth.  This was because the well was no doubt a simple hole in the ground, dug for water, and the cloth and corn were commonplace effects for the working of meal.

Let's look deeper...A well is a place where water issues from the earth.  Our bodies are often likened onto the earth, having been brought out of the clay by God.  The bible also tells us out of our bellies (deep in the earth) will flow rivers of living water; a spiritual representation of a well, if I ever heard one.  People dig wells to find the resource they need.  We need to dig into the Word and Spirit of God to find the resource WE need.  Once achieved, a proper well can sustain us indefinitely and, in a desert, such a well is a valuable commodity.  There are times in our lives when we feel dry, deserted, left to our own devices by God.  It is in these times that we must dig for the resource, dip back into the wellspring of our experience and pull out the truth and fruit.  The life-giving waters of the Spirit.  We need to be hidden in that well; we need to be contained within the tunnel that funnels!  The water that comes from God has no choice but to come through us.  It flows through our worship and our study and our prayer.  If we don't hide within it we will watch it dry up.

The woman at the well covered the well.  We are to season everything we do with prayer.  Seasonings are a covering that goes on food.  It prepares and flavors the food, ensuring by its work that the food is not bland or lifeless.  That covering is our prayer life, the sprinkling of the blood through repentance, and the constant worship of our God.  Without it, hiding in the well is useless.  Absalom could have easily looked down the shaft and saw the men.  But the covering protected them.  Ask yourself, are you adequately covering yourself?  Are you leaving parts of your prayer life, parts of your waterflow, uncovered?  Naked to the enemy?  Or are you taking the time to ensure that the covering is in place by adequately preparing your life and spirit within God, and over the wellspring of life he has given you?

Next she spread corn.  The corn was food.  When you have adequately covered yourself, you need to feed.  You need the Word of God.  Without adequate food, the body dies.  Without adequate bread of life the spirit dies.   Back then bread was very often made of cornmeal or wheat.  It symbolizes the need to spread that food around, to ensure that we are sharing the bread of life, and moreso, providing ample measure to meet the needs of our lives.  The Word camoflauges our heart, changing the landscape.  It makes it harder for temptations to penetrate, harder for the enemy to find a weakness, and thus expose and then collapse our well.  If we are covered in a hidden well we are far more likely to perservere when troubles hit: when the enemy comes around looking to upset us or uproot us.  Our wells must be open to allow flow, but covered enough to protect us in the dry and difficult seasons of our lives.

Spread is a key word here for us, because we cannot clump our blessings in one place.  The camoflauge only works if we spread it around, if we make it look like a place that is well used, and constantly covered, the enemy will not be able to discover our hiding place and stop it up.

I hope you will open your heart to this word, and see that it is possible to have an open but covered well, and it is necessary from time-to-time to hide yourself in it.  Keep your well open, but covered and you will always be hidden under the shadow of the Almighty.

In Love,

Elder Mark
