PREPARED EXPECTATION

2 TIM 2:1 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,...

Friends, we know from the above scripture that time is going to separate the true worshippers from the false.  We are going to come into a season whereby those who know and accept the true message of the gospel are going to be seperate from those who only accept that which they are either conditioned to receive, or that which they personally choose to believe.  A sort of "pick and choose" gospel that is becoming more prevelant in this world than ever before.  Let's look at some root words and additional scripture to help us determine how to live in these challenging times.

PREPARATION:  The actions or process of making ready; Being made ready.

EXPECTATION:  The strong belief that something will happen, or be the case in the future.

The state of prepared expectation is the combination of these definitions.  In other words, Make yourself ready because of a strong belief that in the future people will not endure sound doctrine, but will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires.  In ministry (service to others) we must be about the truth and not just the truth as WE see it, but rather the truth as God gives it.  We must stand prepared to deliver truth and know that in the future there will be those who will not accept it.  However, since we prepared based upon this belief we will not be found wanting in the balance of God's coming judgment.  We will have delivered our soul.  Let's look at some other key words in this preparation.

INSTANT:  Standing by, being at hand, urgent.

SEASON:  Opportunely, convenient, timely

2 Tim 2:2 tells us to be STANDING BY, AT HAND, ACTING OPPORTUNELY at all times!  A state of prepared expectation will allow us to be just that way.  We need to persist in it, whether convenient or not.

PHIL 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

According to my most sincere belief that my work in Christ will not be in vain, because I have given the truth that is truth, not the truth that people want to be truth!

ROMANS 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.

ALL CREATION waits for the revelation of the true sons of God.  Even if some people will only allow what is familiar to them, truth is always coming through because nature itself demands it!

LUKE 12:20 "But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?' 21 "So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."

This is the END for those who only gather to themselves people who tickle their ear, feeding them a limited and false gospel.  God help us to remain expectedly prepared for the outcome of this life, and give a true answer to those seeking salvation.

LUKE 19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

Here preparation meets expectation!  Work until God returns, using his gifts and talents to secure a profitable kingdom on earth.  Work for tomorrow, living for today.  Lay your plans but root it all in the fact that this life is just a vapor, and at some point God will call to reckon all that you have done.  Ask yourself this: "Am I accepting truth over my own philosophy?  Am I building the Kingdom of God within and around me, or just an Empire of comforting lies?"

JAMES 4:13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit." 14 Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. 15 Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that."...

Aim for all life has for you, but don't act as though it is yours alone!  One day God wiill circumvent all your future plans and demand your soul.  What then can you say to him?  Will it be the truth that you accepted or only allowed?

JEREMIAH 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Through preaching and teaching and reading God's Word, and studying His plan for your life you will come to understand that he has an expectation too, and has prepared for you to meet it.  Are you then preparing yourself for him?  Are you expecting His path to unfold, or limiting him into a box of your own personal expectation?

Living in a state of prepared expectation means that you know that you are instant in and out of convenience, and receiving things that at times may be hard to digest!  It means that you know to whom you belong, and you are not content with just tickling preachers.  You long for truth, no matter how hard it may be at times, because you understand that God has a prepared expectation for you, too!  Loved ones, know that if God is prepared to provide you with what is needed, it is because he EXPECTS to see you in heaven with him in the end.  He (thus we) are not given to just spewing convenient truths.  We must hold to what he holds to:  TRUTH.  Even if it hurts, truth is still the grandmaster of your life if you intend to see the LORD and enter into his glory at the end of your life.

Ask yourself; "Am I truly living in a state of prepared expectation?"  "Can I truly accept the truth, or am I using my own convenience filter to weed out the uncomfortable bits?"  God will answer you, and lay his plans for you.  But sometimes those plans include valleys, dark times, and faith building moments that don't fit into our own idea of service and life.  Stand true, friend.  Stay prepared, be expectant.  In a state of Prepared Expectation, you will always know what to say and what to accept, and it will always be the truth!

Jesus is just a NAME...but what a NAME!

..PHIL 2:8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,...

Friends,

When I say Jesus is just a name now, I oversimplify so that we can identify who it is we are talking about. However, if you look at the true theology of one God, you will see in John 14 that there was and is a WORD, a concept, a design that was God himself. This concept was to organize the world for us, so that God would be able to interact with us and show forth his Glory to something that exists beyond his spoken word, (we were formed by his hand, given life by his breath). Thus allowing for free will and the choice to enjoy Him.

Sin and righteousness were created in order to perfect our choices, so that we could be true free moral agents (without sin there would have been no choice). Thus, because sin already existed before we did, it was necessary to prepare a way to deal with sin. This way was established in the old testament. God, the Self existent one, has always been there, self-created and all sufficient. However, the method to deal with sin MUST have included our weakness, the flesh, by which we are a little lower than the angels.
This flesh created the method by which sin entered into the world.

Until man sinned, there was no need to deal with it in the flesh, but God knew that he one day would. Hence, the scriptures tell us that he prepared a body, a clay jar if you will, to house his Spirit. The method to deal with sin was the shedding (sprinkling) of blood. No Spirit has blood. Thus, the Spirit needed a human form (sinless according to the law of the prophets) and that body would be given as a sacrifice for the remission of the sins once and for all sinners. That body needed to be born of a woman according to scripture, yet all flesh is born in sin, hence the need for Him to create the body and place it in Mary's womb, bypassing the sin connection. God honors his word above his name because HE IS THE WORD, therefore, he knew that the body would need a name.

Until Jesus there never was a NAME for WHO God is, just identifiers for WHAT GOD IS. Hence, YHWH, or Yahweh, or Jehovah Jirah, or any of them only pointed to what God's nature was. Jesus points to Who he is. However that name, when applied to the flesh of Mary's baby, also connected an identifier to Mary's GOD. He was GOD IN FLESH. When he sacrificed upon the cross, his BODY was done away with, fulfilling its purpose..The body that now sits on the throne is one of flesh and BONE not flesh and BLOOD, as that cannot enter into the spirit realm. THUS, Jesus is "Just" a name...an identifier of the ONE TRUE GOD, and he operated as the Son, sits on the throne as the Father, and pulls all his glory into us through his SPIRIT (which understands now the true nature of flesh, having partaken of it, yet without sin). That's why Demons tremble! The NAME connects us to the true NATURE and pulls all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

Praise His HOLY NAME!

IF You Do, THEN He Will

DEUT. 7:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:

-and-

2 CHRON 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

FRIENDS,

Today we were looking into the laws of God and found this:  IF YOU DO, THEN HE WILL.  "If" and "Then".  In the laws of God we believe this to be a most basic and fundamental truth.  Nothing happens without cause and effect, and the cause of God's effect in our life stems directly from the promise that "IF" we adhere to his promises and Spirit-led life, "THEN" He will be obliged by his own Word to fulfill his obligations and desires toward us.

There is no guarantee in "IF".  It means "A condition or stipulation that certain conditions exist; Granting that."  God says "In the event that; or granting that, my people obey"...In other words, you get what you choose to get in God!

2 CHRON 7:15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

When will this happen?  When we have fulfilled the obligation of "IF" - that is, AFTER my people do what I require.  When my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves...and onward.  God's expectations are never without promise.  God's Word is never without cost.  His promises are "Yay, and amen", so long as our actions support them.  Notice that he never says "If I want to".  Always it is "IF YOU DO, THEN I WILL".  Guaranteed.  When we act, we obligate God to act, whether good or ill.

PROV 10:16-18 The rich man's wealth is his fortress, The ruin of the poor is their poverty. The wages of the righteous is life, The income of the wicked, punishment. He is on the path of life who heeds instruction, But he who ignores reproof goes astray.…

The relationship of "IF" leads us to know consequence.  God brings provision with his vision, and punishment for those who forsake it.  "IF" we choose life, we receive life.  "IF" we choose death, we receive death.  The sequence is clear.  Obey and you eat the good of the land (ISA 1:19).  Obedience, which is better than sacrifice, brings the promises of God's goodness to light.  The choices we make are predicated on the "IF" "THEN" of God.

2 CHRON 20:9  If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.

ALWAYS he will do, WHEN we have done!  Always God will answer THEN with the IF we have chosen.  Want life?  CHOOSE LIFE!  David was on the run.  Everyone knew David was no coward.  But in 2 SAMUEL 15, David made a choice.  Notice into the chapter that God never says "IF" or "In the event that I want to".  Always, If you do, Then I will.  BUT, hearing and doing go hand-in-hand.  The choices we make must play themselves out in flesh!  We walk it out in shoe leather, as it were.

MATT 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

The "IF" above is the choice to obey God and do the will of God.  The "THEN" above is the reward of being family.  The reason David didn't fight in 2 SAMUEL 15 was that "IF" God was through with him, no amount of fighting would keep the throne.  His heart was right!  Throughout all the chapters of 2 SAMUEL Daivd is referred to as "the King", while Absolom is not.  If you are right, no matter what the odds, no matter what happens, God will not suffer you to be defeated!  But, we must take this message personally.

DEUT 28:15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

Do you want life?  Do you want all that God has for you?  Then CHOOSE life!  "IF" YOU DO, "THEN" HE WILL!

REVIVAL IS A CONSTANT PLACE

ACTS 2:16 but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: 17 'AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,' God says, 'THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS; 18 EVEN ON MY BONDSLAVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, I WILL IN THOSE DAYS POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT And they shall prophesy,,,

Friends,

It has never been more clear that we are in the last days of this Grace dispensation.  Prophecy is being revealed in an unparalleled pace!  Truly, the Lord is soon to return.  My wife and I want to remind you of something related to God's outpouring.  He said it above - I will pour forth OF my Spirit on ALL mankind...and we need to learn that this outpouring is not something that is going to be once and done.  This outpouring is to be compared to the RIVER of living waters that spring from the throne of God.

REV 22:1 Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

God is consistent.  If we believe his throne is eternal, it follows then that this river is as well.  It flows continuously from his throne, and is now pouring out upon us.  In the past few months, we have seen great things!  We have participated in baptizing most of our Bible Study group, seen someone filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost, seen several renew their vows to the Lord, and watched miraculous healings of cancer and other ailments!  Praise God!

But this brings to mind the need to remind you, friends, that instead of seeking REVIVAL as some momentary or upcoming event, we need to walk in REVIVAL every day!

1 COR 15:31 I affirm, brethren, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily

Our friend Paul makes it abundantly clear that Jesus resurrects (and IS the resurrection) of the dead!  Therefore, if he dies daily, as is stated above, then it follows that he must be REVIVED daily!  Revival must be a constant place in which we find ourselves!  Why do we long for the camp-meeting experience?  Because of the excitement of being with people of like precious faith?  Yes and no.  We long for that experience because we come away from the camp refreshed, invigorated, and ready to do a work in Christ all over again.  But, what if we learned as Paul did that we could walk in revival DAILY?

2 TIM 1:6 For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline....

Notice he doesn't say "God has given us a spirit of preaching"...that may in fact be a calling, but the writer is saying that we have received the gift of power, love and discipline.  Why discipline?  So that we can learn to STIR IT UP every day and walk in a constant state of revival!  Revival must become more than an emotional response.  Revival must become a truth of our being!  It has to be that we begin to see God in the light of constant renewal.  Live every day as though you have not served God well enough yesterday!  Do better than you have done.  Stir up the gift of power.  Stir up the gift of love.  Stir up the gift of discipline!  It is through these mediums that God will begin to show you the truth of living for Him, as opposed to living for the next big emotional rush.

A consistent Christian is one who does not move from high to high alone, but is able to walk through the valleys.  An emotional Christian needs to be propped up with things that stir his/her emotions.  A consistent Christian, one who dies daily, needs only to stir themselves up and realize that today is yet another day to please God!  Don't let your emotions lead you.  Let God!  Don't let the time go by without excercising your God-given gifts!  It is a shame if you do.  Revival is so much more than emotion.  It is the stirring up of a great and powerful Spirit which seeks to flood yours with his love, power, and hope!

We encourage you today to research revival.  Link it then to your daily death, as Paul said.  Watch what happens when you realize that revival is not an emotional response, but a love connection with God, that can keep you when your emotions fail.  Men's hearts will fail them for fear these last days, friend.  Can you then rely upon yours?  We say no!  Stand up and get into the constant place of REVIVAL!  Die daily, and be RENEWED in the newness of life!
