HEB 11:15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that [country] from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
The children of Israel were an unusual bunch. God parted the Red Sea right in front of them, AFTER creating a series of miracles for them to witness and be released through and yet the bible clearly indicates that, given a moment's reflection, they would have taken the opportunity to return to Egypt and bondage, rather than face the struggles of life!
My friend we want to urge you to pray over your opportunities. Sometimes things that open before you can be an opportunity, but not every opportunity is a blessing. In being given opportunities we are allowed to excercise the most precious gift God has given us, the freedom of choice! Sometimes when we are struggling or dissatisfied, opportunities can seem like blessings! Thank God, we think, an opportunity to escape this misery, this challenge. But is it really? We have had opportunity like that. A new job offer, a new car, seems all good yes? And yet, when we prayed about it and truly sought God's will, not ours, we found our answer in 'wait and see'. At first we rebelled. Why wait? Why see? This is the chance we looked for. But what that choice meant was the destruction of what God had given us here and what he was laying down for the future..
We are not telling you not to move or take opportunity, but just to do it in God's time and according to God's will. Make sure you are not being like the Children of Israel and just escaping a struggle! Move in God's will and every opportunity will be a blessing! Get it wrong and your blessing may become the enemy's opportunity.
In Love,
Elder Mark and Sister Dana
