Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Psa. 23:5
-and-
The eternal God [is thy] refuge, and underneath [are] the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy [them]. Deut 33:27
Groupmates, in this scripture we find something that most folks like to focus on. The overflow from the cup. We've heard a lot about it, but today we want to remind you of the real focus of this scripture for us...the CUP. Under all the things we suffer through, under all the struggles, holding us up and keeping us on track are the everlasting arms of the great refuge who is God. The One who fights our fights, heals our bodies, redeems us and who should be the focus of our walk. God supports us, carries us when we are weak, and cups us in his hands.
Since, then, he cups us and fulfills all these roles, we can truly say he IS the cup! That's why our cup runneth over..because God is inestimable, everlasting, enduring, full and abundant. His thoughts are ever to usward, his riches are beyond reckoning. The Bible reminds us of his great love, and that he has in fact engraved us in his palms, ensuring that we are forever cupped by his protection and love.
If you are struggling today, do not focus on the WHAT, or the HOW, but rather the WHO that overflows! Remember that God has cupped you in his hands, and holds you even now. Don't quit or get discouraged and don't forget that you can never exhaust God. Through you, out of your belly of faith, rivers overflow. While we are in his hands, we are in abundance because our CUP ALWAYS RUNNETH OVER!
In Love,
