Commitment!

Micah 7:8 - Rejoice not against me O my enemy! When I fall I shall arise; when I sit in darkness the LORD shall be a light unto me.

There are always 2 parts to the word commitment when we serve God:  Our commitment to Him and His commitment to us. The difference is found in Micah 7:18 - 20. It is summed up in this phrase: THOU WILT PERFORM THE TRUTH TO JACOB AND THE MERCY TO ABRAHAM, WHICH THOU HAST SWORN UNTO OUR FATHERS IN THE DAYS OF OLD.

God's commitment to us stems from TRUTH AND MERCY. Everything He does, everything contained in Him and everything aimed at us come from these 2 points. GOD IS LOVE, and He operates in truth and mercy. His promises are from everlasting to everlasting because of His truth, and extended to us because of His mercy. That's why He can never fail us and why we can approach his throne in these days of trial. HE SPEAKS THE TRUTH IN MERCY.

Our commitment to God stems from another direction, found in the first verse: WHEN I FALL I SHALL ARISE. It is also 2 parts: Will and Desire.
Our will needs to be subjected to Him, and is done so out of the desire to reconnect with and worship our savior! Our will and desire work hand-in-hand when confronted by Satan and his imps, and offers us the internal strength to reach out, and bind his strength to our own. His light guides us and our will to obey keeps us striving forward in the desire to see His face!

I thank God for His guidance, and for the desire to serve Him! Thank you Lord for the will to rise up and keep on when I stumble, and your Mercy to let me back in, and raise me up anew!

Be encouraged this weekend and in the coming week groupmate, that His Mercy and Truth will receive and guide you, and that He will reward your will and desire to succeed in Him!

In Love,
